San Antonio, TX, Jan. 2012 “Imitation is the Sincerest of Flattery” or so penned Charles Colton in 1820. To this extent the Quarry Hofbrau restaurant is very flattered. On opening night in May 2010, the Hofbrau introduced to San Antonio a very unusual drink…the Dos a Rita. It was certainly one of many unique elements placed on display on the very first night and founder Beau Roby simply took his award winning Margarita recipe and combined it with an inverted bottle of Dos Equis . Within months other local bars and restaurants added a similar alcoholic beverage to the menu …some calling it a Dos a Rita…others trying to make some other name for it. In the interim the Hofbrau management quickly created numerous other combinations to go with the Margarita base and currently has over ten other rather favored Margarita companion combinations.. In 2011 the drink and its adaptations became so popular a special Dos a Rita menu was necessary at the restaurant to efficiently promote the offering.

To prove this point one could simply rely on Google to identify how renowned the Dos a Rita has become. And they will also confirm that the Hofbrau continues to be the place to enjoy the authentic creation. Even though its popularity has spread city/state-wide, it is rather common to hear comments that confirm that there is still some thing singularly magical, mystical and different about the Quarry Hofbrau’s unique signature drink. Most experts also theorize it is the actual base ingredient… the Margarita recipe, whilst others marvel at the varied adaptations of the product.

Regardless, bear in mind, often imitated but never duplicated. And the Quarry Hofbrau continues to originate new flavorful combinations that will retain our flattered status.
